Color Your Life Outside the Lines
Don't ever let UC outline or define your life or who you are! I am a pre-k/Kindergarten teacher and teach kids to color how they want to whether that be inside the lines or not. They don't have to stay inside the lines and neither do you! Not only do I teach this, I live this.
I have played college soccer, semi-pro soccer, taught Pre-K and Kindergarten, coached high school varsity soccer, competed in triathlons a week after major surgeries and played competitive soccer with a bag.
It has not been easy for me, as I have been through seven surgeries, depression, spent more than 3 1/2 months in the hospital, have been told I would need joint replacements and to stop running and playing sports immediately, have had osteoarthritis and pelvic floor myalgia, have had all of my colon removed and avascular necrosis, and had a quarter of my small bowel taken out, too.
Currently, I am training for the Ironman® and applying to medical school with hopes of becoming a pediatrician. Remember to always think like a child in that you let the color of your life go wherever you want it to!
